The election for mayor of McKeesport is eight days away. Tube City Almanac asked Council President Michael Cherepko, the endorsed Democratic candidate, and City Controller Raymond Malinchak, an independent, to answer 12 questions about their plans for the city if they're elected next week.
In the interest of fairness, each candidate was asked the same questions, in the same order, and each was given 10 days to respond.
The questions cover topics believed to be of interest to McKeesport residents and property owners, including:
Great to read some comedy on your site! I read the Cherepko interview and was glad to see his ideas. Then I read the Malinchak spoof interview you posted. I am assuming that was to mock the problems with McKeesport politics? All the fingerpointing and blatant smear tactics definately tell me that that interview can’t be real, right?

Far be it for me to go off on someone for using your blog as a political sounding board but…..
Seriously. Thank you for presenting the ideas of both candidates. This was a valuable service to the community. It is a shame that the Daily News chose not to sponsor a debate between the two candidates. It is also a shame that the Council President chose to reschedule the Council meeting until after the Election as that would have been the last opportunity to see the two candidates mano y mano.
I will just encourage the folks to go vote on Tuesday and leave it at that.
