McKeesport and surrounding communities are cancelling or rescheduling Halloween events due to the possibility of severe weather, including flooding, this week.

The city has rescheduled trick-or-treat to 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Mayor Michael Cherepko's office announced.

• White Oak has rescheduled trick-or-treat to 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, the borough announced.


• Port Vue has also rescheduled trick-or-treat to 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, a spokeswoman said. ("We've had 150 phone calls so far," she said.)


• Liberty Borough has moved its Halloween parade and trick-or-treating to Saturday, a spokesman for the Liberty Borough Volunteer Fire Department said. The parade lineup begins at the corner of Scene Ridge and River Ridge roads at 2:45 p.m., with the parade to follow at 3. Trick-or-treat will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday.


• Glassport has rescheduled both its parade and trick-or-treat to Saturday, a spokeswoman said. The parade starts at 5 p.m. at Sixth Street, near the bank, and will end at the Honor Roll on Monongahela Avenue. Trick-or-treat will run from 6 to 8 p.m.


• West Mifflin has moved trick-or-treat to 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, the borough announced.


• North Versailles Township has moved trick-or-treat to 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, a police spokesman announced.


• Pleasant Hills has cancelled this Tuesday's Halloween parade and moved trick-or-treat to 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, a police spokesman announced.


• North Huntingdon Township has moved trick-or-treat to 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, emergency personnel announced.


• The city of Pittsburgh has moved trick-or-treating to 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, said a spokeswoman for Mayor Luke Ravenstahl.
