The City of McKeesport will hold its first-ever celebration of patriotism this Sunday as part of a full slate of events planned for Renziehausen Park.
A "Patriotism Parade" will begin in the park at 6 p.m., followed by a salute to local veterans and local servicemen and servicewomen at 6:30 p.m. The River City Brass Band will perform at the Lions Club Bandshell at 7 p.m. For more information, visit the McKeesport Bands website.
In conjunction with the patriotism celebration, the WIP Arts project, McKeesport Art Group and McKeesport Regional History & Heritage Center will hold an "Art in the Park" craft show and sale in the parking lot of the Heritage Center from 12 noon until 7 p.m.
Art and craft vendors will be on hand to sell creative works and community organizations will be providing family-friendly arts and crafts activities. The Heritage Center museum will be open and entertainment will be hosted at the Heritage Center.
Musical performances include Luis Castillo at 1 p.m. and the MoneyPenny Band at 3 p.m. Spaces are still available for vendors at a cost of $20.
